Bob Lee, the founder of Cash App and chief product officer of MobileCoin, has passed away after an apparent stabbing incident in San Francisco.
According to reports, Lee was stabbed in the downtown area of the city and later died in the hospital. The San Francisco Police Department has opened an investigation into the incident, which occurred early on Tuesday morning.
Lee’s father, Rick Lee, confirmed the news of his son’s death on Facebook, calling him his best friend.

Lee co-founded Cash App, an alternative to traditional banking, while working as the chief technology officer for Square, now known as Block. He later joined MobileCoin in 2021, where he served as the chief product officer. Lee had earlier worked for Google, where he helped to develop the Android platform.
